converting garage to day care room

My husband and I have just recently purchased a tri-level home with a double car garage. I would like to convert one stall of the garage into a day care/play room for my home based business. Neither of us have any experience with real carpentry work but plan on recruiting family and friends who do. The garage is insulated already eliminating one problem. The A/C & heating ducts are in the ceiling of the garage so adding another vent shouldn't be a problem. The floor is concrete now but I would like to tile part and carpet the rest. Does anyone have suggestions or any idea what this might cost us. We would like to do it as reasonably as possible (less the $2,500 if possible) with the idea we can improve the room as we go. My own four teenagers will be so happy to have the baby toys out of the living room for once in their life! Tips, hints, suggestions and of course precautions too please!! THANKS
