Continuity between contacts

Clip one lead of a continuity tester or ohmmeter on one of the contacts - and place the other lead on first one and then the other of the contacts. If there is continuity between the clip lead - and the other switch contact and also the other switch contact when you throw the switch - the lead with the clip that has not moved is on the common.
