I have a problem with condensation forming between the ceiling and roof of a mobile home located on lakefront property.
The only place there is a problem is directly under the valleys of the vaulted section of the livingroom. I have torn the damaged drywall out and found that the builder had placed batts of insulation in the space with the moisture barrier toward the roof then placed plastic sheathing between the insulation and the drywall.
Question. does this creat a moisture trap between the insulation and sheathing?
I replaced the insulation with styrofoam board and replaced the drywall. upon inspection over the weekend I noticed droplets of moisture on the drywall.
Question. Would cutting vents into the eaves and installing turbine vents over this section solve the problem?
Humidity in this area runs over 90% year round and the home is normally used only on weekends.
