condensation in windows of mobile home

Posted by Melissa May on February 12th, 2002 12:44 PM

Been a long time since I've posted but have been keeping up with everyone!

Here's my delima...I'm living in a 2000 year model mobile home purchased new. The windows have so much condensation between them that the sill is beginning to grow mold. I'm not sure the correct term for the type of windows in the home. There are 2 seperate windows in each window opening. If I want to have outside air in the house I must open 2 windows.

What I've been doing is opening the inside window so the warm air from the home heating unit will dry the windows. Unfortunately, this allows more cold air in the house so I don't want to leave them open all the time.

I'm living in Arkansas and the weather changes from day to day. Last week we had 6 inches of snow on Wednesday & Thursday then Friday it was 60 degrees!

Is there anything I can do short of replacing 14 windows to decrease the condensation?
