concrete problem

Posted by jim on January 22nd, 2001 01:30 PM

Last spring,(April 2000), I had a new concrete patio, stoop walkway and driveway poured.
Everything was beautiful as fas a the concrete went but
it wasn't untill this December of 2000 and this January, 2001, that I began to notice a few places
where rust was bleeding through to the top
layer of the concrete and I also noticed a crack about 5"in length nearest the house.
Now I realize that the concrete is going to expand and contract due to the weather and that would explain the crack and I can fill that but as far as the rust
bleeding through,I'm at a loss? I'm almost certain that the rust is from the wire mesh that was placed down prior to the pour.
My biggest concern is how do I get rid of the ugly rust marks. I mean it's not that bad unless you really look for it but I AM LOOKING FOR IT AND SEE IT!
Any suggestions on how to correct and rid this would be much appreciated.

Thanks alot guys!
