NEED HELP! We just had an inground pool put in, had light gray stamped concrete deck poured, temps. were in the 30's the night before and the evening that the deck was poured. NEXT DAY- there were 2 cracks, one about 4' long and the other 7' long. Where the longest crack is you can see the crack went completely through the 4" slab. The contractor said, the concrete did what it was supposed to do! I cannot believe it! I have been told by several people that when the temps drop, the deck should have been covered with blankets to hold the heat in- this was not done, I was not told to hose it or anything. We had also had a fair amount of rain 2 days before the deck was poured, maybe they did not allow it to dry out enough. Can someone offer some advice? I know we will end up having to "have it out" with the contractor, but would appreciate anyone's help so I am ARMED and ready for these guys! Thanks so much!
