Concerned about water damage in basement

I am pretty handy around the house and have finished off most of my daylight basement with drywall. I used insulation but did not install a vapor barrier. I have come to realize that this was a mistake and am concerned that over time the insulation will become wet and the wooden studs placed against the exterior walls of the basement will begin to rot. Question is, how much time do I have before this is a real problem? i'd rather not rip up the drywall to install a vapor barrier if it will be many years before i have to worry about rotten studs. BTW - none of the studs are weight bearing.
