I am ready to purchase an air compressor to blow out my 1" poly sprinkler lines, and want to make sure it will suffice.
I was LOOKING FOR a 5-6 HP 25-30 gallon upright portable (110V) with a MINIMUM of 10CFM at 40 psi, but the best I could find is at sears with 8.6 CFM at 40 PSI. Will this be sufficient enought to evacuate the majority of the water from the system? If it takes a couple of passes, that's ok, just want to make sure it will do the job.
Other than not having to pay 50-75 bucks per year for service, I WILL have other uses for compressor, not buying it SOLELY to winterize sprinklers.
