While I'm not personaly familiar with your Sears
compressor, it soulds like it might be worn out.
If the motor still runs, it's not the motor. If it's belt driven, check to see that the belt isn't worn out and slipping and last but not least check the oil level in the compressor if it's not a dry lubed type or diaphram type.
