Common/dangerous method

Removing paint with a blow torch is very common - although setting the house on fire is also common. I know a few people who have used this method and they have all accidentally set the house on fire - after awhile, you get careless (and dizzy from breathing in the burning gas) and accidentally leave the torch in one place too long.

A danger that people may not realize is that the wood may smolder for a half hour before igniting - you may be on the other side of the house when it catches fire.

So - people do it all the time - just be careful.
