coleman furnace

Posted by nelson mills on January 8th, 2003 04:13 PM

my furnace is 6 years old and ever since it was installed it has been spewing dust and fumes that you could not breath
After several arguments with the company feild man and the installer who said there was nothing wrong ,and several huge bills trying new vent pipes et. we find ,,the tin foil covering on the insulation between the heat exchanger and out side cabinet has peeled off ,gone through the heat exchanger in little pcs, and left the bare fiberglass exposed to the wind from the fan .this fiberglass is parked against the ac unit and disintregating in the form of dust ,this will keep blowing away untill it is all gone ,the company now says ,too bad you let it get out of warranty
The cost to replace will be about 3500 bucks ,If I try fixing it,then the new insulation would not conform to the laws and a fire would make my insurance no good
waiting for a reply
