In reply to Coleman Furnace possible leakage by Robert Marshall on October 24th, 2000 01:13 PM [Go to top of thread]

My furnace is 6 years old and out of waranty,so they say ,but for 6 years we had dust problems and could not find why, many complaints to the installer and coleman feild man ,and both were very ignorant ,and never resolved nothing
this fall I said that is it that peice of junk g is coming out ,this is when I found out the problem
The tinfoil cover over the insulation surrounding the outer walls had come off ,gone through the fan in little pieces ,exposing the fiberglass insulation to the wind from the fan most of it was caught against the AC unit and breaking up in dust, filling the duct work and the whole house ,
some rooms you can not breath the air
Coleman now says o too bad you let it get out of warranty .
how many other coleman furnaces are out there with this problem spreading thie carsonogenic dust for everyone to breath
If I recover this furnace with a diferent insulation and it catches fire ,it does not conform and my insurance is no good
a new furnace will cost installed about 3500 bucks
have you any suggestions
thank you
