I have a couple of cantelevered bump out areas on the first floor that are very cold to the touch in the Winter. I have access to these bumpouts from the basement. They currently have regular batt insulation shoved in, but there is substatial gaps that remain because the insulation was installed after the floor was installed above. My question is this: does it make sense for me to pull out the batt insulation and completly fill the areas with blown in insulation? Would that help out the cold floor situation, or would this be a wast of time and money?
