I personally have not heard of a water softer clogging up such that it prevents all water from getting into the house but I guess it is possible. If it really is your softener that is the problem, then you maybe able to shutoff the water supply into the softener and open up another valve that offers a bypass loop to your house coldwater plumbing lines. If the bypass circuit was not installed then you or a plummer can take the softener out of the sywtem with the water shutoff at the water meter or with your house water supply cutoff valve and insert a straight run of copper pipe or galvanized pipe which ever you may have. Check your manuals for the water softener or call the manufacturer and ask them if it is possible for it to plug up! Hope this helps and good luck to ya and let us know what it took to fix your problem. Thanks
