We are moving into my grandparents home that was built in 1958. It has beautiful knotty pine walls, ceiling, and cabinets. Both of my grandparents smoked and most of the knotty pine is in the den and kitchen that are really one big room. My grandmother cooked 3 meals a day and there is some buildup. We've tried scrubbing with Murphy's oil soap and it seems to leave a white color on the paneling. Maybe we just aren't scrubbing enough. We've also tried TSP, a very strong cleaner. With both we have put a lemon oil on that we found in their cabinet. Is it safe to scrub with a brush? Is there something better to clean with?
Thanks to anyone that can help!!
