CLEANING AN ANTIQUE OVEN/STOVE - ENAMEL- CHAMBERS

Hi,
Can anyone help? I have this old (porcelain, baked on enamel) Chambers stove/oven. Boy was it dirty on the side panels. Anyway, I've tried to clean it. And all the cleaners I've used have left streaks/runs on the enamel. (I didn't use any ajax or anything, just some bathroom cleaner, zap, windex, and 409) What should I do now? I want a bright shiney finish without the runs. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
THANKS
