Posted a message earlier but did not receive responses. I have a house that is approx 10 years old and my beautiful light color honey-oak woodwork now has an amber/orange look to it and over-the-counter cleaners are not working.
It is probably that it is just the varnish/polyureathane that the builder sprayed on is getting the amber/orange color. If this is the case, can I use something to clean it (have tried Murphy's oil soap and Orange Glo.
I have seen some places on the internet that say to use mineral spirits to clean it. Does anyone recommend this and if so do they know if I need to put on a new top coat?
If a new top coat is needed, can anyone recommend a varnish/polyureathane that does not discolor over time?
