You may need to check and see if the outlet you are going to use to power the AC unit is supplying addition lighting or other outlets in the house. If they are you will need to calculate the total load of all the devices on that circuit. The total load should not exceed 80 percent of the overcurrent protection device. In addition the wiring that supplies power to the circuit must be sized to carry 125 percent of the ampacity of the total load.
