Circuit Load

If the 110 volt AC units are going to be plugged into an existing outlet the total circuit load must be considered. Should the outlet be on a circuit that supplies lighthing or other outlets the total load of the circuit must be calculated.
All the loads connected on the circuit can not execeed 80 percent of the fuse or breaker rating. In a 20 amp circuit for example, the max total load would be 16 amps. You need to check and determine if the outlet that you use for powering the AC unit is on the same circuit with other outlets or lighting. Also the circuit conductor size must be considered. The branch circuit conductor must be sized at 125 percent of the total load.
