Cinder block walls

Posted by R.C on February 5th, 2003 09:32 PM

I have some deteriorating cinder blocks on my basement wall. This wall is next to the garage where salt ladened snow, from cars, has seeped in between the floor and wall over the years. The faces of about 10 blocks look to be crumbling, efflorence is present on them, but they are still soild. I'm going to correct the water problem in the garage and around the whole house by resurfacing the grading and gutter installation in the spring. Is there any product out there that can be applied to strengthen and repair these blocks or do they have to be replaced. Any suggestions will be appreciated. R.C in New York
