Chopper for solid waste in line

Posted by Sue on June 4th, 1998 09:56 PM

My mom bought a house with attic loft guest room/bath, 3" waste pipe going down through laundry room to basement, where at a bend it goes into 2" pipe buried in concrete - you guessed it, solid waste backs up to laundry room on first floor, then overflows - we have heard about a "chopper" that can be inserted in the 3" line, thereby liquefying solid waste and eliminating this problem - but she cannot locate it in small town where she lives, no one knows about it - does anyone know what this unit is called, source, manufacturer, etc.? I would appreciate any help, it is an awful long walk downstairs and through the dark house when nature calls in the middle of the night! Kind of reminds me of the trip to the outhouse at my cousin's farm when I was little!
