Hi Bob,
Clean a chimney about once every two years, as Henry in MI said
how much coal/wood you use, be a safe bet is once in two years.
Your only problem is if the chimney cleaner is honest, I've known
when they came to my house and tell my wife,"you have some bricks loose ?
when Im up on the roof shall I repair them for you". or "you have some tiles
that are damaged, I'll repair them when Im up there, OK".They tried it with me,
They did not know I was in construction and did running repairs to the house
myself, so I know the state of my chimney and roof....
But..Please do not think all chimney cleaners are crooks, most do quality work, but
now and again........
