I have an Extrodinair fireplace insert that I can-
not get to draw. I have placed additional lengths of chimmney pipe on in order to clear the peak of the roof which is over 30 feet away, but I still get a downdraft. My house is located in the country on top of a hill with no trees or obstructions near. If I get the chimmney warm by burning small amounts of paper I can eventually get it to draw but not without putting smoke into the house in the process. My dealer tells me that there use to be a company that made a downdraft cap that worked much the same way a cattlefeeder with a wind deflector works. Apparently creating a suction when the wind blows over it. Have you ever heard of this and know where to get one, or can you think of another solution./
