Checking for ground

Don't mean to intrude but it could be that you have a grounded box even without having a ground screw. Alot of older homes were wired with armored cable called BX in which the metal shield creates a ground. The way to check would be to remove the outlet from the wall and with a circuit tester check between the black hot condutor and the box. If you have 120volts you have a ground, then you could use the bond jumpers as already talked about to ground the new devices, good luck.
