I'm planning to remove the 1" square ceramic tiles from my kitchen backsplash prior to removing old cabinets and then installing new ones. I plan to install new ceramic tile after the new cabinets are installed.
I was planning to use a heat gun to heat the tiles which should soften the adhesive which should permit fairly easy removal of the tiles with a scrapper. However, I can't find anyone suggesting this approach. All advice, including yours, all talk about chipping off with chisels or similar approaches. Won't my plan work? If it will, how do I then remove the adhesive?
