ceramic tile on countertops

Posted by Thomas on May 24th, 2000 11:55 AM

I just finished installing custom cabinets in my kitchen and now I am onto the countertops. I was thinking about buying formica tops that you can get from Home Depot that you have to cut to length, but this seems to complicated, so since I am handy with floor tile, I have decided to tile the countertops instead. Best method I could come up with was using plywood as the base and then tile on top of that. I noticed that I would have to raise the plywood off the base cabinets(what I will use for this is yet to be known), because the drawers and door tops are flush with the cabinet frames. I am also going to tile the sink back splash. Any suggestions on if what I am doing is correct and any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
