EVEN WITH GOOD SUB-FLOORING AND TILE BACKER BOARD, BECAUSE CERAMIC TILE HAS NO FLEXIBILITY, I WOULD NOT RECOMEND TILE FLOORING IN A LARGE ROOM, DUE TO SETTLING OF THE HOUSE. THE CERAMIC TILE WILL CRACK, USUALLY ALONG FLOOR BEAMS WHERE FOUNDATION PEIRS ARE. IF YOUR LUCKY THE JOINTS WILL CRACK BUT I HAVE SEEN CRACKS IN THE TILE ITSELF ALL THE WAY ACROSS THE ROOM. IF YOU WANT ALMOST UNDESTRUCTABLE FLOORING AND HAVE DEEP ENOUGH POCKETS, I SUGGEST "CORIAN", IT HAS QUITE A BIT OF FORGIVENESS.
