Ceramic spray on insulation

Posted by Carol on September 10th, 1999 10:30 AM

Recently I became aware of a new insulation product while searching the web.
The site was www.elitelabs.com/thermacover/ . It says it is a latex-based ceramic thermal barrier capable of reflecting up to 98% of radiant heat.
What makes this product interesting is that they only apply 0.016 inches which is almost nothing but yet it delivers a R-20 insulation factor.
I would appreciate it if someone out there who has knowledge of this product respond to this posting.
What I want to know is -- is this thing for real? Because if it is it's the best thing since sliced bread.
By the way the product is called Therma-Cover produced by a company called Therma Cote, Inc.
