ceramic floor underlayment

Posted by TimF on July 9th, 2000 03:23 PM

I would appreciate responses to what the minimum underlayment is required for laying ceramic floor tile. The tile is 12 x 12 squares and current subfloor is 3/4" plywood. I am tearing up 2 layers of previously layed vinyl floor squares which are in bad condition. Any suggestions on the various manufacturers of backerboard, durorock etc... and which one to use for a kitchen floor would be appreciated.

Thanks
