Sizzor trusses, which are pitched on the roof, as well as in the inside ceiling are set up in a 2:1 ratio. For instance, if you have a 8:1 exterior pitch for the roof, then the ceiling would be half of that, or 4:1 for the vaulted ceiling. So, to figure the ceiling height at the center for the above example, you would take the rise per foot (4") multiplied by 10, which is the amount of run from the wall to the center of a 20' room. This would give you 40" above the wall at the center for a 4:1 inside pitch
