The living room ceiling in my newly purchased condo, currently has a popcorn ceiling. The ceiling is also very uneven and has some cracks in it (probably the reason for the popcorn). There is also plaster moulding which has been painted over so many times that is looks terrible. A contractor said the least expensive way of repairing the whole thing would be to remove the popcorn. Remove the plaster moulding and put up a "laminate?" to cover up everything. Then I can add whatever moulding I like. It sounds like a good idea but I never heard of putting laminate on a ceiling, floor yes. Any comment or recommendations would be very appreciated.
