ceiling fan wiring

Posted by Teri on November 5th, 2002 10:28 PM

I'm trying to replace an old ceiling fan in a house I just moved into with the ceiling fan that I took down from my other house. In the ceiling I have a 2 black wires that are connected, 2 white wires that are not connected and the copper ground. The fan has 1 black, 1 white, 1 blue and a green ground. I know the blue is for the light fixture. How should I connect these wires so the light and the fan work. There is only one switch in the room. Thanks
