i just took down the light fixture to hang the ceiling fan suport bracket and then to wire the fan system, but the wires are all insulated with what appears to be the ORIGINAL wires (judging by the wire insulation material-looks like my grand ma's old lamp cord). The current light fixture is new and has modern wires (black, white, green). even the housing appears to be modern). can i make the ceiling fan installation happen with the current wire (no pun) system?

note* The house is a 1930's era home.

PS, the old wires from the house are all black over copper it appears. How do i color match to my ceiling fan/light assembly wires consisting of black, white, green and blue (light kit)?
