I have similar problem to Steve. Installed a ceiling fan w/light kit that was on old two wire. I took down fan, and I pulled old wire. I ran two new runs of two wire. So I have two black and two white(1)&(2) to fan/light. Also my power is in the ceiling with the fan, this is a two wire black and white(3). I connected black (3) which is hot, to black (1)&(2). These run back to switches. Then off switches, white comes back and I wired white (1)to fan (black) and white (2) to light (blue). Finally I connected White on fan to white (3) hot.

I hope that makes sense. Anyway, either switch makes light and fan come on. I want one switch for fan and one switch for light. WHAT HAVE I DONE WRONG???? I wrote it on paper and it makes sense to me. Anyone want to help me???
