Ceiling angles

Posted by T Dean on July 5th, 2000 08:13 AM

I recently went on my honeymoon in Jamaica, the Sandals resort in Montego Bay. While I was in the reception room I noticed the ceilings. This ceiling came down instead of up or flat. It started next to the walls and came down at an 45 degree angle down for about a foot in depth, then the ceiling leveled off and became flat agian throught the room. My question is "What is a ceiling called when it comes down?" and "What is a ceiling called when it goes up?".
