I bought a two story townhouse last year that is the last of 10 units. the upper bedroom facing had a rather ugly water stain, from an old leak on the roof that had been fixed. There was also a elongated water stain on the living room ceiling just beneath the master bedroom. It too was an old stain, possibly related to that of the bedroom. Problem is after Hurricane Irene, there was no new (fresh) stains in the master bedroom, but the stain on the ceiling in the living room appears to have spread (moist to the touch but not leaking to the ground). My father, said it is probably just a leak from the roof, where the water is finding the lowest point, or a window in the master bedroom that needs to be re-caulked. I dont' know anything about any of this. How can I find out? Also how can it be repaired. The ceiling is apparantly drywall (this is florida), and textured.
