I need to repair only the bottom 2 rows of shingles on my siding. Problem is , how to remove these shingles without damaging the ones above. I have tried the nail cutter type devices used on slate roofs but they are too tight to get this tool under, plus the tool is so long it hits the ground.
One professional told me he cuts the last bad one even with the bottom of the 1st good one and starts from there butting against the cut edge. He uses caullking in the seam. I dont like the idea of a seam and an extra place for water to seap in.
I thought of trying to use a long blade on a sawzall to get up under and cut the nails.
