Hi. We currently have LP siding on our home and are going to have it removed and have our home re-sided. We are torn between using cedar siding or Hardiplank. We like the look and lower maintenance of the Hardiplank, yet are a bit worried that it will end up failing and we will put end up with another "LP" situation. Cedar is a bit more expensive, has higher maintainance, but seems to be more of a "sure thing". Any suggestions out there. We have heard some really bad things about Hardiplank from one contractor/salesman, but good from all others, so it's hard to know who to "believe". Any input, would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
