I have a house in florida with Cedar Lap siding, built 3 years ago. We liked the cedar look that was on the boards but in 3-4 months it started turning gray and black. So we went out and bought some clear sealer but it only got worse. After talking with some painters, they said to strip off the sealer and clean with a pressure washer, then apply some Wolman's Cedar Deck and Siding stain. We did this and now our house is a total mess. It is many shades of dark cedar, no uniformity at all. All I want is to have the cedar back to the original color and not have to redo it every year, but what will work? If nothing will last more than this, what should I do?
