CCA (Arsenic in lumber)

Posted by Jason on February 10th, 2002 12:30 PM

Greetings All,

As a follow-up to our past posts,

New Hampshire's first in the nation status has become the target of the Sierra Club.

You may want to log on to and read the front page article in todays Sunday paper, The Herald Sunday.

The call has gone out to State Health Officials to issue a formal alert on the use of pressure-treated lumber in children's playgrounds.

While a pending deal between the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the wood-treatment preservative industry would phase out production of the treated wood, it would be voluntary.

The Sierra Club is pushing for a mandatory 90 day phase out.

I see political candidates are jumping on the band wagon as well!

I just thought you might find this of interest.

Best Wishes,
