carpet on stairs

hey pat, when you remove the carpet there should be staple or nail holes that will have to be filled in .I dont know what you mean by installing wood , what are the stairs made out of now. IF they are just fer or pine you may want to replace the treds with nice oak ones. becareful and replace one at a time and nail and glue them back in place ,its a pain in the ass to replace the treds but if thats what you want , you got it.
