Carpet measurements Hallway And Decending Stairs

Posted by Richard Kielbasa on August 16th, 1999 12:29 PM

I have a hallway upstairs that measured 3.5 ft. wide then two lenghts measuring 12 ft and 4 ft. This forms an "L" shape. From the formed L, I then have 17 stairs (top 10.5 x 33.5, face 8.5 x 33.5). I want to carpet this area completely not a runner on the stairs, but complete coverage of the whole stair. MY intial question is the conversion of the stairs from inches translated into square feet for the carpeting measurements. The other thought I had is to buy a one piece carpet (8' or 9' wide) and this would eliminate the matching of a patterned rug. Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated on both issues. I am thoughtfully
