My apartment was recently re-carpeted and I notice that some parts of the carpet near the wall in the bedroom (also the entrance to the walk-in closet) make a crunching noise when I step on it or walk on it. It is in a relatively small area of the bedroom (the rest of the apartment is fine). It almost feels like the there is plastic that is sticky underneath the carpet. Is this delamination of the new carpeting due to bad installation? is there a way to fix it? Frankly, I don't know what type of carpeting or installation method was used because I was not in the apartment when installers came, and everything was arranged and paid for by the apartment management.
