I want to put up drywall over an existing tile ceiling. the tile is some kind of fiberboard about 1" thick. it looks tacky, it is old and a few of the tiles look like their going to fall down (though they seem to be suffiently in place.)
i don't want the work of tearing it all out (about 1200 sq ft.), then all the work of putting up the drywall--. is there any reason why i can't just plop the drywall right on top (or on bottom) of the tile?
