I live in New Hampshire and we use low-E film coating to help keep the heat out and retard fading in the summer and help keep the heat in in the winter.
I would think that in Florida, this would be standard.
One way to test to see if you have this high performance glass, would be to hold a match near the glass, (not too close and stay away from the curtains), and look at the reflections of the two flames. If they are the same color you probably do not have high performance glass.

This test can also be done to see if you have triple pane glass by looking for three reflections.
I don't know if you are going to have to have your windows tinted to keep the heat out and use insulated blinds in the winter.
Maybe some of our southern folks can assist you better with this one.
