Cable through joists, whats OK?

Posted by Steve C on February 26th, 2000 05:15 PM

I have to run a bunch of sheathed electrical cable in my basement. So I will be running them through the first floor floor joists. What rules should I follow? Should I minimize number of holes or size of holes? That is should I make a bigger hole and run multiple cables or make a bunch of smaller holes for each cable?

Anything else I should know?

Steve
