Cabinet painting

I have some cabinets that have oak faces and the other surfaces are matching particle board with a "film" adhered to the surface resembling oak.

Is it possible to paint these particle board sections and make them look identical to the painted wood faces? If so, what materials and how would I do it? Sand, fill, sand, prime, paint??
