We want to build a staircase in a small home to the attic, which we would like to change to a bedroom. There is no pre-existing staircase, only one of those pull down ladders in the hallway, in front of the bathroom. We wanted to knockout a small wall in the laundry room and put the stairs over the laundry room, leading upstairs. It is a one story house, plus the attic. We need to know, how do we measure for something like this and find out if we can build the stairs there and how much material is needed and any instructions that might be available? Thanks for your help.
