Building a shed 'directly' on dirt?!?!

Posted by Becky on August 12th, 2001 04:47 PM

My husband and I bought a 'do-it-yourself' wood shed (8'x12'). He is building it directly on the ground ... yes, he did put a piece of (ok I suppose) plastic ... but managed to cut it short (all the way around. Now the outer frame (2"x4"s) of the flooring are directly on the ground (dirt), oh too it is 'treated wood'.
This just doesn't seem right, (or look right either) to me. So before I get too persistent, and do that "wifey-naggy" thing, can someone PLEASE HELP and answer if this way of shed building is acceptable?!?
Oh yes, we live in Southern California if that's any stipulation.
Thanx in advance
