Hi, Anita. After 4 kids, I have had a little experience with broken doors. You can fix the holes by patching with Bondo the same way you fix holes in drywall but the finish will never be right. Since a new door only costs about $25-30, it is usually just as easy to replace the door. You will need a lock boring set, chisel and other normal household tools including an electric drill. You will probably want to put on a coat or 2 of polyurethane.
